As of January 2024, the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has made it mandatory for public authorities to establish, maintain and use single window (SW) systems for the electronic exchange of information required on arrival, stay and departure of ships in ports globally. In addition, public authorities will have to combine or coordinate the electronic transmission of the data to ensure that information is submitted only once and re-used to the maximum extent possible.<\/p>

Implemented well, a Maritime Single Window can:<\/p>

  • Create a common understanding of activity in the maritime domain<\/li>
  • Improve the competitiveness of supply chains by centralizing and streamlining information flow<\/li>
  • Increase supply chain efficiency, predictability, and optimisation through advance vessel and cargo information and planning<\/li>
  • Reduce vessel time at anchor and at berth, minimising emissions<\/li>
  • Streamline the vessel clearance process, speeding up departure<\/li>
  • Improve safety of a call due to data certainty and availability<\/li>
  • Reduce human ship-to-shore interaction and promote better health and safety<\/li><\/ul>
    \u00a0<\/div>

    OCIANA\u00ae incorporates the latest developments in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data analytics to improve maritime situational awareness and provide real-time decision-making intelligence.<\/p>

    The platform promotes digitalization, interoperability, data exchange harmonization as well as the development of strategic partnerships. The platform is also well aligned with the IMO’s Maritime Single Window (MSW) <\/span><\/strong>mandate <\/span>based on the key capabilities that MSW systems are expected to provide:<\/p>
